Original Santa Maria Valley Style Seasoning

A uniquely versatile blend of California garlic, premium salt and cracked black pepper with a whisper of parsley freshness. I currently live in Kalamazoo, Mi. at the moment but I also have a home in Santa Maria. I was transferred here in 1994 and am planning to retire in July of 2010. About 62 people transferred here to work in a large aerospace company. We brought Tri-Tip to the area and have a lot of people grilling even though Tri-Tip is hard to get. I introduced Susie-Q seasoning salt and have been bringing salt back every time I go to Santa Maria for the local folks. I buy my salt at the COSTCO store in Santa Maria and I was wondering if you will ever have the Susie-Q Santa Maria salt stocked in the Grand Rapids Mi. COSTCO store.

I grew up in Santa Maria and have always loved SM Style BBQ, its one of the things I always look forward to when I go back. I was in the AF stationed all over the world for 9 yrs and now live in Utah. I have family members ship me Susie Q seasoning on a regular basis. I have also introduced the seasoning to several of my friends and neighbors and now they have me have my family ship it in to them as well..... the best seasoning hands down, havent found a good comparison yet!!!

I am the former Catering Manager at the Santa Maria CA Hilton Hotel (it's no longer a Hilton btw) We used SusieQ's all the time as Santa Maria BBQ was a mainstay on the menu. I was placing yet another order this morning when I saw that I could post a review. As a Bakerfield native, I have been hooked on tri-tip and your product as long as I can remember. We moved to PA and literally nobody knew what a tri-tip was or your Santa Maria seasoning. Through many phone calls, I finally found a butcher 25 minutes away from my home that actually knew what a tri-tip was and was able to cut us one. I use Susie Q's Santa Maria Style Seasoning on everything. I found that if you mix it with flour and corn meal it makes a great batter drip for fish. I use it on Tilapia fillets and my wife who usually does not like fish, eats it up.

After being stationed near Santa Maria at Vandenberg AFB, Santa Maria BBQ and Tri-tip were in constant supply. For 7+ years, we feasted in regional food and are very spoiled. Although we now call NM our home, our family has enjoyed every version of this BBQ and have used this seasoning in everything from a shrimp marinade to a dry rub on beef. We have never been disappointed and I keep it in constant stock in my kitchen.
